How to Convert PDF to Editable Word

Upload any text-based PDF and this tool uses PDF.js to extract all text content, then packages it into a proper DOCX file using docx.js — fully editable in Word or Google Docs.

Text Mode vs Image Mode

Text Mode extracts real text — the output DOCX is fully editable. Best for standard PDFs with selectable text. Paragraph structure and fonts are approximated.

Image Mode renders each page as a high-resolution image — preserves exact visual layout. The text cannot be edited but the page looks identical to the original PDF.

Limitations

Text extraction works on PDFs that contain actual text (not scanned images). Scanned PDFs require OCR which is not available in this browser-based tool — use Image Mode for those.
